In today’s episode, I’m joined by my husband to talk about something most of us tend to struggle with – finding rest. It sounds silly, but for many of us, the idea of slowing down and taking a breath is a struggle. We talk about what rest is and what it isn’t. David and I dig into some of the “whys” behind our resistance to rest, chat about our own experiences, and discuss David’s acronym for a solid resting plan.

“If you work with your hands, you need to rest with your brain. If you work with your brain, you need to rest with your hands.”
Remember David’s acronym for rest: BRACED
B-Boundaries: What will I do while I’m resting? What won’t I do while I’m resting?
R–Recreation: What are you going to do for FUN?
A- Air: How are you going to get fresh air while resting?
C-Community: Who will you be in community with/connect with during your time of rest? *Choose people who refresh you – not those who drain/sap your energy!
E-Eat: What will you eat during your time of rest?
D-Delight: What will you take delight in while you are resting?
